Restore Facial Volume with Juvederm®

Over time, skin can eventually lose its volume and appear deflated, saggy, or droopy. One of the first areas to show visible signs of aging is the middle part of the face. As people lose facial fullness, their cheeks begin to deflate and descend downward.

At Georgia Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, we offer several skin rejuvenation treatments, including Juvederm®. An innovative treatment that’s used to bring youth and fullness back to cheeks, Juvederm® is an injectable compound of hyaluronic acid that is naturally found in the body. Juvederm® is also the only dermal facial filler currently on the market that’s designed to address lost cheek volume.

In addition to the aging process, there are several other factors that can affect cheek volume, including too much sun exposure. Restoring cheek volume helps recreate natural facial contours and maintains the youthfulness of the face.

Who is a Good Candidate for Juvederm®?

Juvederm® has shown to be effective for people of all ages and skin types. However, it’s important to get an initial consultation before receiving a Juvederm® treatment. Only a medical professional can truly determine if you’re a good candidate for Juvederm®. At Georgia Plastic, Dr. Okoro or a member of our team will work with you to determine the most appropriate treatment for your needs.

Juvederm® Results

Upon receiving a Juvederm® treatment, you will immediately notice the results. Not only are the results dramatic and quick, but they can potentially last for a long time, in some cases up to two years. Regular touch-up treatments are often used to maintain results.

What Does a Juvederm® Session Involve?

Usually, a Juvederm® treatment lasts about 15 minutes or less in most cases, although treatment can vary. A very fine needle is used to inject the Juvederm® solution. The level of discomfort that a patient experiences during treatment is usually minimal, but a topical anesthetic can be applied if necessary.

Potential Side Effects of Juvederm®

Juvederm® is considered a very safe cosmetic treatment, and the majority of side effects are mild. Some patients may experience bruising, redness, or swelling in or around their cheek areas. Those who take blood thinners have a higher chance of bruising in general, but these side effects generally fade in a week or less of getting treatment. If the symptoms continue longer than a week or more, a follow-up appointment will be necessary.

What to Expect After a Juvederm® Treatment

Following a Juvederm® treatment, you can return to your normal routine immediately, but it’s important to limit sun exposure for the first 24 hours following treatment since sun exposure can potentially irritate the skin.

Are you ready to look years younger in about 15 minutes or less? Do you want fuller, glowing skin? Juvederm® may be the solution for you. Contact Georgia Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery today to schedule your consultation.
